2025年第2次学术报告: Overview of Astronomical Observing Facilities of ARIES
报告摘要：
In this talk, I will give an overview of the observing facilities being used for the study of celestial sources in the optical and infra-red wavelength at ARIES, Nainital. In the second part of my talk, I will highlight some results obtained in recent years using these facilities followed by discussion to initiate a collaboration with XAO.
报告人简介：
Santosh Joshi (born in 1974) is an Indian astrophysicist living in the city Nainital of the Uttarakhand province of India. He obtaind the PhD degree in 2005 in Physics from Kumaun University in Nainital (India). He was postdoctoral fellow at the The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (India) during 2005-2007. He joined Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (India) as a scientist where he is currently designated as Scientist-F (Professor). He is specialised in Asteroseismology, Chemically Peculiar Stars, Variability in Star Clusters, Binary and Active Stars, and Optical variability of Blazars. Santosh has been part of many international collaborations as PI/Co-PI such as the BRICS project funded by BRICS consortium (DST, Govt. of India; MSHE, Govt of Russia; and NSFC, Govt of China), Indo-Belgiun bilateral project “Belgo-Indian Network for Astronomy & Astrophysics” (DST/INT/Belg/P-09/2018), Indo-Russian bilateral project (INT/RFBR/P-118/2013), Indo-South African bilateral project (INT/SAFR/P(3)/5/2009), and Indo-Thai bilateral project (DST/INT/Thai/P-16/2019).
